Diane Lewis will present a lecture on “The Great Healthy Yard Project”.  She is the founder of the non-profit “The Great Healthy Yard Project, an environmental organization working to improve and protect the quality of our drinking water in order to help families lead healthier lives.  

Lewis, an internist and a nephrologist, has combined her knowledge of medicine with her love of the environment and is also the author of the book “The Great healthy Yard project”, Our Yards, Our Children, Our Responsibility.

Lewis is a board member of Audubon NY, a member of the Bedford Garden Club, and a member of the Rachel Carson Awards Council for Audubon Women in Conservation.  In her hometown of Bedford, NY, Lewis serves on the Town of Bedford Planning Board and the Town of Bedford Open Space Acquisition Committee. She was a Board member and chair of the Water and Land Use Task Force of Bedford 2020, a non-profit tasked with forming a liaison between the community and local government to implement the town of Bedford, New York’s Climate Action Plan, for nine years.
