Dick Button was a 2-time Olympic skating champion and a 5-time World champion and later a television analyst for the sport. All this, before he took up his most successful second career as a gardener. Ice Pond Farm is Dick Button’s magnificent property in South Salem NY. Under his direction and hands-on toil, the former dairy farm was landscaped and includes a rustic barn among other marvelous out buildings, ponds, open fields, original stone walls, a circle garden and long colorful borders.

Ice House Farm became one of the founding gardens in the Garden Conservancy’s Open Days Program when his friend and neighbor Paige Dickey created the program in 1995.
