For the Zone II show in Hartford, Sasqua needs one Rudbeckia ‘Goldilocks’ and flowers from members’ gardens for a cut arrangement.

Coming soon – the Zone II meeting and Flower Show on June 18 and June 19 at Hill-stead Museum in Farmington, CT. On Monday, June 17 we will select the single Rudbeckia ‘Goldilocks’ grown by one of our Sasqua members to be entered by our club in this Zone show. Please email evelynlee53@gmail.com if you have a ‘Goldilocks’ you would like to have considered. We will meet on Monday, June 17 at Beth Rhame’s, 271 High Meadow Road, to make our club selection. Please look for info in a future email blast for details as well. Thank you to all who have given this a try!

Also for the Zone II Flower Show—our club will be entering The Petal Power Growers’ Design Challenge, Class 2 – A Garden Bouquet. Barbara Bradley and Christina Benish will do the design, but they are able to use cut flowers, greens and other botanicals from all of our members’ gardens. So, if you have anything available, please let Barbara know by email, bbrad1023@aol.com, or bring material to Beth’s home on Monday, June 17 by noon. It would be best to cut on Sunday, or early Monday to allow specimens time to lose their ‘field heat’ and hydrate in a bucket of cool water.

Thank you to members who submitted specimens for entry in the recently-passed Darien flower show. It is always nice to get support of other clubs when putting on your own show.
